Balancing the Body’s Three Energies

In the ancient science of Ayurveda, the balance of three primary energies or doshas — Vata, Pitta, and Kapha — governs our health and wellbeing. When these energies are in harmony, our body functions optimally, and we experience good health. However, the stresses of modern life, dietary choices, and even changing seasons can disrupt this delicate equilibrium.

Enter the Tridoshic spice blend, a harmonious concoction designed to balance and nurture all three doshas. Infused with nature’s wisdom, this blend not only adds a delectable flavour to your dishes but also offers a plethora of health benefits. From aiding digestion to reducing inflammation, enhancing metabolism, and calming the mind, this spice mix encapsulates the therapeutic essence of Ayurveda. As you incorporate it into your meals, you are not just seasoning your food but also taking a step towards holistic wellness.

  2. Remove the toasted spices from the skillet and let them cool.
  3. Once cooled, grind the toasted spices in a spice grinder or mortar and pestle until you have a fine powder.
  4. In a small bowl, combine the ground spices with the turmeric powder, ginger powder, cinnamon powder, cardamom powder, black pepper.
  5. Mix all the spices thoroughly until well combined.
  6. Transfer the spice mix to an airtight container and store in a cool, dry place.

If you know your personal dosha, feel free to personalise the blend. Here are some examples:

Pitta: more coriander and turmeric (anti-inflammatory)
Kapha: add some cayenne, or paprika (sweet and hot)
Vata: add 1/4 tsp nutmeg (grounding)

This tridoshic spice mix can be used in various dishes such as curries, soups, stews, roasted vegetables, or even sprinkle it on popcorn.

Note:
It’s always a good idea to consult with an Ayurvedic practitioner or healthcare professional if you have specific health concerns or dietary restrictions.

Storage:
The shelf life of the spice mix is 6 to 12 months when stored properly in an airtight container in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. Check for spoilage or loss of potency by smelling and tasting it periodically. Replace if there are any changes. Label the container with the preparation date for freshness tracking
